The patriotic bench rifle on this month’s cover was built by Harvey Miller of Miller Custom Rifles. San Leandro, California. The McMillan barreled XP-100 is chambered for the 6mm M.C. R. wildcat cartridge. The 21-inch barrel has a 14-inch twist. The action is housed in a sleeve with both left and right-hand ports for speed in shooting. It carries a Burns bolt and Hart old-style 2-ounce trigger. A 30X Siebert-converted Lyman scope is the glass. The Snake was painted on the McMillan fiberglass stock with a brush and lacquer with plenty of retarder. The lettering is dry transfer. the rifle also shoots. Miller used it to place 8th in the Sporter Nationals, 13th in the Light Varmint, and made the top twenty in the Heavy Varmint.
