Ken Water's Pet Loads a classic
Posted by Ted Bartke on Mar 3rd 2018
This book is a compendium of decades of detailed reloading studies. It is not designed to be read cover to cover but rather to be used like an encyclopedia. I happen to be a fan of classic rifles and cartridges so most of my reloading is for obsolete cartridges. The data provided in the book are based on many discontinued components. More useful than the data are the gems of insight provided in the text. It never ceases to amaze me what meticulous work was done with the relatively crude equipment of decades past. I recommend this book to anyone who reloads or is considering reloading in the future. Combined with modern reloading manuals for the reloading data you can't go wrong. I wish I had this book 50 years ago. Pet Loads is well worth every penny of its cost.
